Application development:

You can volunteer to join our team of clinicians, public health specialists and IT experts working to further develop eHMIS.

We are particularly looking for volunteers:

IT Professionals

  • Graphics / skins specialist: We are looking for a volunteer to support with the graphic user interface of the eHMIS application, making it more user-friendly and improving on its colours. We would like to develope several skins / css layouts for the application.
  • Software translators: We are looking for volunteers interested in supporting to translate the software into other languages, especially German, French, Spanish, Portuguese.
  • Application developers: If you have hands on experience in PHP/MySQL and have interest supporting with the development of this application, you are welcome to join

Medical Practitioners

As a Medical Practitioner (Doctor, Medical Officer, Nurse, Researcher, Pharmacist, or any other profession in the field of medicine) you can contribute greatly in getting the eHMIS application to meet user expectations. You can join the group of eHMIS developers as a User Acceptance Tester. We shall appreciate your feedback with regard to the functionality of the application and suggestion on new features we need to improve, integrate etc.

Accountant

We are currently in the process of designing the billing component of eHMIS. Any contributions from accounts interested in supporting with the design are welcome.

Features

We are putting this together. We are considering using the HL7 EHR standard to substantiate present / missing features.

Architecture

The eHMIS application uses a client-server architecture designed on the LAMP (Linux, Apache, PHP, MySQL) plattform to allow for management of patient information from encounter to discharge, with an uplink to a comprehensive reporting module
