Saving Lives

eHMIS is currently being deployed in Tororo District Hospital in Eastern Uganda, sub-Saharan Africa

The eHMIS application is a free open source electronic Health Management Information System designed to improve on the quality of health information management and routine reporting in developing countries with the following vision and mission in mind.

The application is currently being piloted in Tororo District Hospital, in Uganda, sub-saharan Africa. eHMIS has an uplink to Routine Reporting, which enables the automated electronic compilation of health routine reports in a flexible manner. The application captures all patient information from encounter to discharge, with in-built billing and drug inventory management currently being developed.

Architecture

The eHMIS application uses a client-server architecture designed on the LAMP (Linux, Apache, PHP, MySQL) plattform to allow for management of patient information from encounter to discharge, with an uplink to a comprehensive reporting module
